Jungle Wolf Expeditions
Day 1 - Transfer to the lodge - Discover the Amazon River
If you arrive by plane, the guide will pick you up directly at the airport upon arrival. If you stayed overnight in Iquitos, the pick-up will be at 8:00 AM; the exact time will be confirmed the day before. Transfer from Iquitos to Nauta. We will embark on a fascinating journey, exploring landscapes, villages, and the bridge over the Itaya River. We will navigate in a traditional boat, passing by the confluence of the Amazon, Marañón, and Ucayali rivers, with the possibility of spotting gray and pink river dolphins in their natural habitat. We will continue along the Yarapa and Cumaceba streams until we reach the lodge, located in the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. You will enjoy a typical Amazonian lunch with seasonal fruits, and in the afternoon, a canoe excursion to observe birds, monkeys, and sloths. As night falls, after dinner, you will experience the magic of a night walk to discover insects, frogs, tarantulas and unique sounds of the jungle.
Day 2 - A Total Immersion in the Amazon
After breakfast at our lodge, we'll begin a fascinating hike through the reserve, a tour designed to let you experience nature in all its essence. Along the way, you'll discover different species of birds and monkeys, while our expert guides reveal the secrets of Amazonian medicinal plants and their many uses. You'll also have the opportunity to see insects, butterflies, termites, and leafcutter ants. As part of our commitment to conservation, you'll be able to plant your own tree, contributing to the lungs of the world and leaving your positive mark on the rainforest. At midday, an Amazonian lunch awaits you, prepared with dedication by our cooks, who combine local flavors with fresh products. In the afternoon, we'll travel by boat to the village of Puerto Miguel, where you'll learn about the customs and lifestyle of its inhabitants, forging an authentic connection with the local culture. We'll also be able to appreciate the Amazonian sunset on the river.
Day 3 - Explore Nature and Wildlife
Very early, we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast to energize us before starting a full day of Amazonian exploration. We'll navigate lakes and streams surrounded by lush nature, observing a great diversity of fauna and flora: curious monkeys, exotic birds, snakes camouflaged among the vegetation, and the endearing sloths.
We'll take a special break to savor a typical lunch prepared in the Amazonian style, fully immersed in nature.
In the afternoon, we'll return to the lodge, where a comforting dinner with local ingredients awaits us. The evening will bring a unique experience: our guides will share the tradition of artisanal fishing with typical Loreto spears and teach us to recognize the magical sounds of insects and nocturnal birds that fill the jungle with life at sunset. A full day that combines adventure, culture, and tradition in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon.
Day 4 – Unforgettable Amazonian Sunrise
We start very early, at 5:30 a.m., to watch the sunrise and enjoy an exciting day of artisanal fishing for piranhas and other typical Amazonian species. We return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast and then explore the area's lakes, where we'll have the opportunity to admire the Victoria Regia, the largest and most impressive aquatic plant in the rainforest. After lunch at the lodge, we begin our return journey by boat to Nauta and then on to Iquitos, arriving around 6:00 p.m. If your flight departs earlier, we will transfer you to the airport in advance, ensuring comfort and punctuality. A day filled with nature and adventure, designed to make your trip end with unforgettable memories.
