Peter’s Fishing Tours
7 Days Hook and Trek Adventure Fishing and Gorilla Safari in Uganda
Experience the best of Uganda’s wilderness with this exciting 7-day adventure that combines world-class sport fishing with unforgettable gorilla trekking. From battling giant Nile perch on Africa’s most powerful river to standing face-to-face with endangered mountain gorillas in the misty forests, this safari offers the perfect blend of adrenaline, nature, and wildlife encounters.
Day 1 Arrival in Entebbe
Your adventure begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where our safari representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe. Enjoy a relaxing evening by Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, while receiving a briefing about the journey ahead.
Day 2 Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, travel north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most spectacular park. Along the way, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino tracking experience on foot. Continue to the park and visit the top of the powerful Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below.
Day 3 Fishing on the Nile River
Spend the day sport fishing along the Nile beneath the falls. This area is famous for catching massive Nile Perch, some weighing over 80 kg. With experienced guides and quality fishing gear, anglers can test their skills against one of Africa’s most powerful freshwater fish. Non-fishing guests can also enjoy a boat safari spotting hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and many bird species along the riverbanks.
Day 4 Game Drive and Flight to Bwindi
Start the morning with a game drive across the savannah of Murchison Falls National Park, searching for lions, giraffes, buffalo, elephants, and antelopes. Later, travel toward southwestern Uganda and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO-recognized rainforest and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorilla population.
Day 5 Gorilla Trekking Experience
This is the highlight of your safari. After an early briefing from park rangers, trek into the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a habituated gorilla family. The hike can take between 1 to 5 hours depending on their location, but the reward is extraordinary: spending one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
Day 6 Community and Nature Experience
Enjoy a relaxed day around Bwindi. You may visit a local Batwa community, take a guided forest walk, or simply relax at your lodge while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding rainforest and hills.
Day 7 Return to Entebbe
After breakfast, return to Entebbe by domestic flight or scenic road transfer for your onward international flight.
