Novruz trip, Turkmenistan

Day 1                                                                                              Bukhara – Merv – Ashgabat An early breakfast. Departure at 06:30 am towards the Uzbek-Turkmenian boarder crossing station called Farap Alat (distance 100km; time required 1 hour 30 minutes). Upon completion of all necessary customs procedures at both check points, we proceed across the neutrally maintained strip land area covering approximately 1.5 kilometers where transportation might not always be readily available until meeting our native speaking Turkmen Guide who would accompany us throughout this journey. We then continue onwards toward Merv which lies about 300kms away taking around five and half hours en route. This historic town once served as a significant hub for global trading activities along the legendary silk routes alongside being renowned for its craftsmanship skills. The place hosts several historically rich sites within what's known locally as "Merv Historical Park" such as but certainly not limited to these notable landmarks here listed below namely: Sultan Sanjar Tomb, Greater & Lesser Kizil Kala Fortresses, Arkakala Citadel, Gyaukala Castle Ruins, Keshik Stronghold among many others besides them. In the evening dine at a traditional eatery located nearby before checking into accommodation facilities offered by selected three star hotels situated conveniently close to downtown areas or main tourist attractions respectively. ** *DAY TWO*** After enjoying another hearty morning meal it's off again driving some 3 ½ hrs till reaching destination number two i.e., Ashgabat City proper.
