Humpback Whales Watching of the Northern Hemisphere.

UVITA SALVAJE

The Punta Uvita Beach Tour offers an enriching experience that spans about three hours and is available in two time slots: from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This tour explores the stunning beaches of the Marino Ballena National Park, visiting points of interest such as the Ventanas Caves, accessible by boat, and the mouth of the Río Grande de Térraba, known as Boca Coronado. A highlight of the tour is the opportunity to spot cetaceans, including the humpback whale and various dolphin species, especially during their migration seasons. Additionally, participants can enjoy snorkeling at two significant coral reefs in the park: La Isla or Piedra Ballena and the Tómbolo in Punta Uvita, where they can witness the diverse marine life that thrives in these ecosystems. Main points: Participants of our tour are provided with ample time to observe the cetaceans, document them, and capture photos at their own pace, considering this is a key highlight of the combined tour. To conduct snorkeling and visit either Arco or Piñuelas beaches, the weather and tide conditions during the tour will be assessed. If conditions permit, the activities will be supervised by our guides, who will assess daily conditions to ensure the safety and protection of all clients. INCLUDES: Bilingual Tour Guide (Spanish-English) Safety gear (life vests and medical supplies) Snorkeling gear (this is dependent on the tide). Snack (water and fruit) Coffee station Tickets for the National Park. Parking

Osa Canyoning Adventures

Come and get your fill of adventure. We start a few kilometers up the mountain with a short 20 min hike through the rainforest to our starting point. The first descent starts on the side of a waterfall, so that you get to practice the process without juggling the water – at least until the second waterfall. In total, there are 7 rappelling descents down waterfalls, a handful of smaller cascades that we carefully climb down, and some hiking through the waterway between rappels. Prepare to get wet on this tour – it is guaranteed! Part-way through we’ll pause to enjoy a pre-packed snack en route and enjoy the purely natural surroundings. What to bring: Make sure you bring shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. If you have a long driving journey home/back to your hotel after the tour, you might also want to bring a dry change of clothes. A drink bottle is also essential. You may want to also bring a camera, however given that we’ll be in the waterways, it might get wet. Something you probably won’t need is sunscreen – we are only out of the rainforest a short time. The remainder of the tour we will be under the cover of the rainforest canopy and so it’s not necessary to bring sunscreen – especially since you’ll be getting wet and sunscreen pollutes waterways (which we really want to avoid). Safety Considerations: The tour is relatively physically demanding and is a relatively high-risk activity, and as a result we have certain restrictions on who can come on the tour. If you have any of the following conditions, unfortunately we cannot bring you on the tour with us: - Recent surgeries (within the last 10 weeks) - Heart problems or CVD - Unmanaged high blood pressure - Unmanaged diabetes - Parkinson’s Disease - Loss of limb (upper extremity), or physical inability to use both arms/hands - Vertigo If you are pregnant, we are also not able to take you with us. We also have a weight limit of 260 pounds (120kg) for the tour. Keep in mind that each descent will require you to slowly lower yourself down the incline – so if you have any condition that restricts the strength in your hands and forearms (or if you doubt that you can control your descent) then we likely won’t be able to take you on the tour. By joining us on the tour (and by signing our waiver), you confirm that you do not have any condition that is listed above or any condition that may preclude you from joining us on the tour.
