The park features a variety of landscapes, including open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills. It is home to significant populations of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, predators and various antelope species. One of the park's highlights is its black rhino sanctuary, dedicated to the conservation of the critically endangered black rhino. Mkomazi is a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 450 species recorded. Bird enthusiasts can enjoy a picnic lunch at designated picnic sites, often situated in scenic locations. After lunch, visitors can visit the African Wild Dog Project, where rare and endangered predators are actively protected and bred for release into the wild. The park offers more game drives or optional guided nature walks, allowing visitors to get closer to the flora and smaller fauna of the park. As the day winds down, a final game drive is undertaken to spot any missed wildlife, providing excellent opportunities for photography and game viewing. After a fulfilling day of exploration and wildlife viewing, guests will return to Arusha or Moshi, arriving back at their hotel in the early evening. Marangu is a small town with a great amount of history and ancient traditions. Get carried away by the Chagga tribe, unique rainforest landscapes, and banana and coffee plantations. This day tour has it all: action, tradition, and culinary. The area around Marangu is home to the local Chagga tribe, and you will learn all about their history and traditions on this full-day excursion. We will have an opportunity to visit the Chagga underground caves. At this place we will visit a small coffee farm, where you will learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested, and processed locally. Try your own hand at processing, roasting, and preparing a fresh cup of organic coffee while dancing. We’ll spend a fascinating hour or so for this unique Kilimanjaro organic coffee tasting experience. Once you have finished enjoying your coffee break, our guide will then lead you through the coffee and banana plantations to the spectacular Ndoro Waterfalls flowing from the foothills of Kilimanjaro Mountain. On the way you will have the opportunity to take pictures of the mighty Kilimanjaro at the viewpoint and get a sense of the spirit of the mountain. Our hike to the base of the waterfall will lead us through lush green landscapes while spotting fauna and flora in the area. Here you have the opportunity to relax and take a refreshing bath in the cold pool of the waterfall and later drive back to Moshi.
